Planting of invasive non-native species

A local resident has been planting New Zealand Flax on the dunes.

This is a non-native invasive species for Northumberland coastal environments. At least 15 plants have been planted in the dunes along the coastal path area.

These were first spotted earlier in the year and he’s been planting them out of his garden into the dunes. Several are still there. Approx grid ref NU2858802580 (land opposite 29 and along coastal path / next to bins)
