Excessive Littering

Good morning,

We visit your beautiful town annually and adore all of the history, charm and character it has to offer. However, we do feel that there ought to be more street cleansing, as the litter floating around the high street and the overflowing bins let the town down hugely. The litter and unclean pavements create an environment that feels uncared for and adds to the perception of a run-down area, which Berwick most certainly isn’t.

Is there a regular programme for street cleansing, how often do the bins get emptied and are there any volunteering efforts to tidy up the high street and surrounding areas?
