Ragwort

Reported via mobile in the Weeds category anonymously at 13:16, Saturday 11 July 2026

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9769862.

The morpeth pegswood northern bypass and stretches of bank leading into the North of morpeth via the A1 or covered in Ragwort. The Weeds Act 1959 identifies ragwort as a Injurious weed which is harmful to neighboring animals and crops produced by neighboring fields. NCC appear to employ Straughans to cut the verges however they only cut a 2 foot wide strip of grass. Please can you arrange for the ragwort to be cut down and sprayed off so that it doesn't accumulate even further year after year.
