Trees blocking public access and tall trees hitting neighbouring houses
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9765451.
The trees have not been maintained. They overhang and now completely block the public steps/ pavement and access to 4 houses. They are also overhanging the public road. The public have to walk on the road to pass them, as the pavement is now blocked. The hight of the trees now hit against the neighbouring house in high winds, causing potential damage. Access is blocked for postal and delivery workers, and emergency/ care workers. The resident that lives in one of the houses nearby, is disabled. Their community carers are unable to access their house because of the trees. This has been a problem for many months. The trees are located at the top of the public steps on maple drive, widdrington. They are opposite house number 79 maple drive NE61 5PF. However they do not belong to this property.

We are only able to inspect trees that are dead, damaged, diseased or causing a physical obstruction as a priority, The responsibility for trees on private land lies with the owners or occupier. A member of the public has cut back the brances as much as possible. The height is still a problem and is causing damage to neighbouring properties.
The owner needs to understand that these trees need maintaining. They are a hazard and will cause an accident.
