Overgrown hedgerows A1068 Morrisons roundabout to Mark's bridge

The hedges along the A1068 from Morrisons roundabout towards Mark's bridge are overhanging the pavement in breach of Section 154 of the Highways Act 1980, The vegetation obstructs the pavement causing a danger and risk to vulnerable users, i.e. blind and other disabled users of the pavement and parents trying to safely negotiate prams and young children through the obstacles at times having to snap off prickly rose shoots to pass safely. I have attempted to contact Kingston Spaces, the company responsible for managing the aforementioned hedge, through their on line portal asking for the hedge to be trimmed back to the boundary line as per the published Government guidelines. They as, yet after fully two weeks they have failed to respond.

Yesterday, I received a response from Open Spaces advising that they were unable to cut hedges at this time of year due to bird nesting season. I have emailed Open Spaces informing them of my surprise that an estate management company was unaware of the rules contained within Government guidelines published in 2024 that allows hedge trimming where it encroaches onto preventing safe use of footpaths. The situation is getting worse.
