Reported via desktop in the Blocked Ditch Causing Flooding category by Jan Birks at 12:29, Wednesday 6 May 2026
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9408355.
Hemmel Burn watercourse, Main Street CSO, near junction of Woodhead Lane, Haltwhistle. Two urgent issues identified during a routine monthly inspection by Haltwhistle Town Council Grounds Committee: (1) Significant accumulation of debris at the culvert trash screen is seriously impeding water flow and presents an immediate flood risk to Main Street properties. (2) Access gate at the watercourse entry point is severely misaligned and unsecured, posing a serious public safety hazard, particularly to children. Urgent inspection and remedial action requested.
