Parking on verge, and causing a safety hazard for park

Reported via desktop in the Damaged by vehicles category anonymously at 16:27, Sunday 19 April 2026

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9318906.

Thank you for installing the posts on one side of the park entrance — this has been a helpful improvement. However, I would like to raise an ongoing concern regarding vehicles now parking directly opposite the entrance on the other side. This has begun to damage the grass verge and, more importantly, is creating a safety hazard. Parked cars obstruct visibility for children and families exiting the park, making it difficult to see oncoming traffic when crossing the road. As mentioned earlier this year, it is unclear why parking on the grass verge is necessary, particularly as there appears to be adequate space available along the residential street. I would greatly appreciate it if this situation could be reviewed and appropriate measures considered to prevent further damage and, most importantly, to ensure the safety of park users.
