Street light arch flashed and stopped working

Reported via mobile in the Damaged/Exposed Wiring/Vandalised category anonymously at 21:45, Thursday 16 April 2026

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9307024.

It was raining last night and I notice a flash outside, thought nothing of it, then it happened again so went outside. This time I spotted the flash was coming from the street light along with the sound of it arcing out. This happened 3 more time each time the sound was accompanied. Just to be clear this wasn't the light itself flashing it was arc flash due to the rain entering the junction box. The light stopped work after that. There is only one street light on our area so now we can't see anything of a night.
