Speeding down the entire Park Road

Reported via desktop in the Vehicle Impact category anonymously at 09:31, Thursday 9 April 2026

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9262587.

Speeding down the entire Park Road. Can NCC Highways explain why this road is not a 20mile limit, with speed warning signs in place down the length of this road. This road acts as the main road for people commuting to the park. People walk around this road with children, yet there are no speed enforcement signs. Cars constantly speed down this road.

  • Thank you for your report. This system is not monitored between 1600 Hrs Friday to 0830 Hrs Monday or on Public Holidays. If you are reporting something during this period, which is an immediate danger to the public, please telephone 0345 6006400 for action.

  • Thankyou for bringing this to our attention. As this road is currently 30mph, additional 30mph repeater signage is only permitted where the road is absent of street lights, as a continuous flow of street lights denotes a 30mph speed limit.

The average speeds of vehicles traveling on Park Road has been recorded at 15.5mph on our Speed Compliance Tool. Given that vehicles park on both sides of the road this naturally forms a section of natural traffic calming which drivers would be expected to slow down for.
