Dangerous Playground Equipmemt

Reported via mobile in the Sports Pitch/Court Maintenance category anonymously at 23:51, Wednesday

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9261399.

The playground equipment in this playground is too dangerous. The climbing frame is too high, but young children are able to climb it. Young children should not be able to climb a climbing frame meant for older ones. It looks like an accident waiting to happen. The drop is such that they could break their necks.

There's also a swinging thing on a spring in the middle they seesaw on. The children swing on it and because the equipment points downwards, there is a danger it will come down and crack them over the head. It is heavy equipment so this isn't a trivial health and safety hazard.

Please have this dated equipment removed or replaced before a child tragically loses their life. Parents do not expect faulty equipment in play grounds. I have had to hold onto a child who climbed that climbing frame, the parent was oblivious. I have seen kids get their heads hit on that other thing and didn't think until that point that my daughter shouldn't play on it. It is hard to tell kids not to play if the stuff is there. Please get this sorted out. I know it's been there a while and shouldn't have been put in, but it's out of date, doesnt meet modern standards, and needs replacing.
