Collapsed fence due to rotten timbers

Reported via desktop anonymously at 16:40, Monday 9 March 2026

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9075138.

It has been like this for a few weeks. I assumed the bin men might report it.

  • As the photos show - rotten wood strewn on the grass. This is a designated nature reserve. The Friends of Holywell Dene working party work tirelessly to protect preserve, maintain and improve it. NCC need to do their bit.

  • The collapsed fence has gone. The rotten supports remain. There are now council railings in the bushes. (See photo)

  • I can't see if the old fence has been removed as this area is currently covered with hay and wood that has been fly tipped. I have reported it.
