Failure to repair potholes and disintergrating road surface, see previous report nr 8463694

Reported via mobile in the Potholes category anonymously at 13:46, Friday 6 February 2026

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8853769.

I refer to the previous report 8463694 which said " this has developed over a long time. Now about 50 to 60% of the pavement crossing outside 19 and 20 Dene Road is simply disintegrating, and the remainder is in poor condition. Water pools in the gutter and pot holes. Chunks of road surface come loose all the time exposing loose aggregate below". After waiting some 2 months you finally came early this morning and put a couple of shovel loads of tarmac in one of the water filled potholes, which was only partly filled by the tarmac because my car was parked over it! So the hole has not been properly filled and only very loosely tapped down. Your men completely ignored the other holes and the disintegrating surface ( you can pick lumps out with your hands!). Neither did your men make any attempt to to contact me to nove my car. So having COMPLETELY failed to address the problem you then have the temerity to send me an email stating that the report is closed and the status is changed to "Fixed" !! Apart from the failure to even remotely attempt to repair the damage this represents a complete waste of time and money. So kindly address both the repair and the way that your operatives are supervised.
