Speed limit excessive on bend at Gloster Hill

Reported via mobile in the Damaged / Missing / Facing Wrong Way category by Mark Johnson at 11:11, Sunday 18 January 2026

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8712382.

Narrowly avoided a severe accident this morning due to delivery driver driving at excessive speed round the 30mph 90° bend with vision obscured by high wall. This is a frequent occurrence and given the popularity of the road to walkers and children only a matter of time before someone is killed or severely injured. Signs further down road indicating pedestrians. Speed limit should be reduced and more effective signage / mirror added. Increased housing stock on Gloster hill and walk through from Cove way makes it no longer tenable to have a 30mph limit on this bend.
