Narrowing of the road has resulted in the drop down kerb and driveway starting to break up.

Reported via mobile in the Kerbs - Damaged/Loose category anonymously at 19:13, Saturday 10 January 2026

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8663595.

A pinch point in the design of the road has resulted in vehicles, including buses and HGVs,driving over the existing drop down kerb. As can be seen in the attached photographs, there is a narrowing of the road now that part of Curly Lane was widened just a couple of years ago. This is not helped by cars being parked at this point on the side of the road. This means that many passing drivers drive over the drop down kerb to give space to the parked cars. The drop-down kerb has existed since the mid 1980s and it has just started breaking up. When it rains, the water running down is eroding the ground under at this point.
