Lethal ice on housing estate
Reported via mobile in the Gritting Request - Roads category anonymously at 08:01, Thursday 8 January 2026
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8644738.
Taylor wimpey estate roads are lethal. Even bin lorry got stuck at the top of our hill yesterday and was wheel spinning on the ice! It has frozen solid again overnight and not meant to get above 3 degrees today. It is absolutely ridiculous that we haven't yet been adopted by the council when the estate is over 8 years old! We have lived here 5yrs and it was around well before then. We have grit bins, streetlights, get a COUNCIL bin collection and yet no winter help......however the gritters have been up here a couple times. Why not just do it all the time....Fairfield gets done and we are directly beside them! Guess I'll just have to do it myself yet again....people falling over snd unable to get on/off the estate isn't good enough!
