Cobbled surface of Spittal Lane bridleway covered in debris

Reported via desktop in the Other Right of Way Issue category anonymously at 22:01, Tue 16 December 2025

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8557051.

The cobbled surface of this frequently used bridleway down to the railway crossing is covered in a thick layer of mud / decayed leaves making it slippery and unsafe. This has built up over a number of years.

  • This public footpath has become covered in leaf and soil.debris so is now very slippery, especially the steep section down to the railway crossing. The problem is exacerbated by the golf club ground staff dumping leaves at the top of the path. The path is ancient and cobbled so the debris could be cleaned off revealing a solid surface.
