Flooding on dangerous bend A698

Reported via mobile in the Flooding category by John Angus Atkinson at 07:13, Mon 1 December 2025

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8484208.

Water is collecting on the bend at the Murton cross roads away from the drain which is further West. In the dark very difficult to see and covers more than half of the west bound carriage way. There’s been a number of temporary repairs but it’s as if the road has subsided recently. Water was visible even over the summer but not excessive

  • There is still water collecting at the corner even in dry conditions. Has the area been checked for water main leaks? A puddle sits in area and the tarmac is breaking up again

  • This section of road continues to flood. Road surface is being damaged expect potholes. Coupled with the bend and the Murton crossroads just after, this is a dangerous road issue
