Pool of water ready to go to ice
Reported via desktop in the Surface Condition category by Dudley George at 15:16, Sat 22 November 2025
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8451872.
Thank you for removing all the piled-up leaves in the alley between Greenwell Lane car park and the town. This has, however only served to highlight the residual major hazard in bad weather. Because there is no drain at the base of the slope down to the car park and the slabs dip down here, there is a continual pool of water at the bottom corner. This, of course is immediately ready to freeze come bad weather. Last year I was lucky in only having sustained bad bruising falling here. Anyone elderly or disabled could easily sustain life-changing injuries, and this is one of the most used cut-throughs in the town I wish to hereby raise this as a hazard that has been given an alert, and hope that something can be done. Many Thanks
