A New Grit Bin request problem has been found by Northumberland County Council Please can a grit bin be put next to the third cattle grid on the left hand side. Thank you

  • The criteria for the installation of a new grit bin are points based and include the severity of slopes and bends, the category of traffic using the road, whether the highway is on a Primary 1 gritting route for roads or footways, the presence of an existing grit bin within a 200-metre radius, and footway footfall. The Highway Inspector for the area will assess the location against these criteria to determine whether a new grit bin is required.
