There has been another collision due to the steep icy stretch of Fenick Park exiting onto the A697 this morning. Car in collision with lorry

Reported via desktop anonymously at 14:44, Wed 19 November 2025

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8440013.

This has been the scene of a number of accidents, including cars sliding into the first house on Sea View. Today a car slipped from the junction into the path of a lorry on the A697. Significant damage to car. Police were informed, but did not attend. This could have led to a fatality. We need a longer term solution to a known problem on this junction in winter. I appreciate that a small NCC van came around Fenwick Park around 2pm today to grit, however this needs to be done before the morning commute as this is when it is most icy and the accidents occur.
