Please can we have a grit bin or pile

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8424384.

I ask this every year and am told we have one “within the acceptable distance” except that acceptable distance is miles away on the other side of the A1. For the many walkers (including elderly) who use this road in winter, daily, please give us a grit bin or some grit piles. I am happy to spread it, I am not happy to do a 3 mile round trip to get grit for the path.

  • Not sure this is a duplicate report as previously I’ve emailed the council and been told we don’t qualify for any sort of grit supply.

  • Update- We have inspcected the area requested and completed our assessment. Unfortunalty the area where the grit bin has been requested does not meet our current risk criteria.
