Fly tipping report 8375414
Reported via desktop in the Fly-tipping category anonymously at 16:18, Thursday 6 November 2025
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8385616.
Hi there, I reported the fly tipping of a sofa earlier this week, as per the report number above, and got a reply saying that it wasn't NCC's responsibility.
It looks like the locator arrow on my original report ended up in the wrong place, so I've put it in the right one here and am trying again.
As the accompanying photos show, the offending item is literally three yards from the Hadrian's Wall Path and will be seen by every single visitor to our county who walks along what is probably our premier tourist attraction.
What sort of impression does it create of Northumberland if dumped, broken furniture is allowed to remain within a World Heritage Site?!!
It would take two blokes maybe 40 minutes to come up from the Hexham waste recovery site, put it into a pick up truck and take it back for disposal - if I had a vehicle big enough, I'd do it myself, but I don't, so I can't.
Hope you'll now be able to pick this up, literally - thank you!
