Works Vehicles Obstructing NSL Dual Carriageway

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8376730.

Works vehicles associated with construction work at the old farm premises are frequently parked half on the verge / half in the roadway. This occurs both during the day and in darkness (the area has no street lighting).

Vehicles are plain, without any markings or beacons (not chapter 8 compliant) and there is no warning, lighting or guarding. Often vehicles are unlit or lit only with standard vehicle hazard lights.

I have witnessed a number of near misses due to vehicles travelling along this road due to travelling vehicles not realising the carriageway is partially obstructed until the last minute. There is potential for a serious collision to occur here.
