Rubbish including old sofas and glass TV stand
Reported via mobile in the Fly-tipping category anonymously at 21:09, Sat 18 October 2025
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8312486.
Household rubbish in black bags, old sofas and glass TV stand along the side of a council property. This has been going on long enough and it's time enforcement actions were taken against the tenants as it's making the area look like a slum and it's a health and safety issue as it's potentially attracting vermin.

Sent to enforcement

The rubbish is still outside the property and hasn't been removed despite saying it was sent to enforcement over 2 weeks ago. Not something I would have expected from the council that it would take this long to clear up and the residents of number 4 Anstead Close are the ones responsible for this.

Why do we pay council tax when this hasn't been cleared up a month later? The rubbish is a blight on the street and if the council were hoping Bonfire night would have gotten rid of the problem, it didn't. "If" enforcement comes out to clear this up then they can also remove the remnants of the bonfire on the adjacent field. Absolutely shocking from my point of view and others I've spoken to, you need to do more and try harder.

The rubbish is still blighting the street with no sign from the council cleaning it up however they did clean the remnants of the bonfire. Two months plus though to remove these items and they are still there with no removal in sight??? Makes you wonder what the council and people employed as estate inspector do.

Shouldn't have taken as long as it did to clear it up
