Shocking amount of litter!

Reported via mobile in the Littering category anonymously at 17:41, Thursday 16 October 2025

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8305074.

I am a dog walker and the majority of my walks are around amble (mainly main street and industrial estate areas). I also grew up being around amble a lot and can honestly not remember ever seeing as much litter as there is now! Its everywhere! Some of the worst bits are the small cut from one side of industrial estate to the other that goes behind morrisons and also up by the welfare where the new football nets have been built. These are only 2 places however I'd say probably 60-75% of amble has a problem with litter being dropped. It gets covered by overgrown bushes and whatnot but then more litter just gets dropped on top of it! What is even worse is the amount of it that is broken alcohol bottles, empty alcohol cans and wine bottles! One it doesn't give a very good impression of amble and two it is dangerous for small children and dogs as they could get hurt. There are plenty bins around amble and especially the litter up at the welfare (presumably from the school kids) is not justifiable as there are numerous litter bins!
