Tree is out of control far too tall

Reported via desktop in the Trees damaging private property category anonymously at 16:15, Fri 3 October 2025

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8249117.

The tree is taking sunlight from 163 Western Way and the roots are affecting our fence etc, it must also be affecting the house behind our property. The tree has got far too tall and needs to be taken down. Several years ago I did send in a request to have all the trees removed in the snicket as they were getting too big. The council did remove them all apart from this one.

  • The tree is growing taller and taller and I feel sunlight is affecting my neighbours garden. From our property the tree is definitely affecting our fence which is starting to move and is getting far too big causing a problem for the council, it is getting out of control.

  • Tree still hasn’t been cut down, it’s getting taller and taller and will become very unmanageable soon.

  • The tree has been inspected by a member of the tree team. There were no issues found with this tree. The height of a tree is not a reason for potential failure of a tree. There was no indicators of rot or damage. Removing a tree is a last resort and will only be done if a risk is found. No work required.

State changed to: No further action
