Slippery Surface
Reported via desktop in the Spill - Oil/Diesel category anonymously at 10:55, Wed 1 October 2025
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8237360.
I have been on this road twice in the last month and both times the car has skidded when coming off the roundabout in the left hand lane. Both times it was slightly wet but not sure what made it so slippery.

We have completed the skid‑resistance assessment on both lanes coming off the roundabout using the GripTester device.
The recorded GripNumber values align with established national guidance for skid‑resistance management and correspond to the expected investigatory levels for this category of road.
A surface spillage was reported in the vicinity around the time of the earlier incidents. Given the absence of any further reported issues and the current compliant skid‑resistance readings, it is reasonable to attribute those previous events to the temporary effects of that spillage.
Nevertheless, we will continue to monitor the location to ensure that skid‑resistance performance remains within acceptable parameters and to address any future concerns promptly
