Overgrown vegetation restricting view when crossing road

Reported via desktop in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 10:06, Tuesday 23 September 2025

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8201779.

This issue has already been reported and marked as fixed, but no trimming work has actually been carried out. As a result, visibility remains extremely restricted when crossing the road.

Pedestrians can only see approaching vehicles once said vehicles are exciting the roundabout as the crossing is positioned immediately beside the exit, this means pedestrians are often already in the middle of the road before they even become visible to drivers. This creates a highly dangerous situation where people are forced to run the remainder of the crossing to avoid being hit.

Equally, drivers have little to no warning and are forced to brake suddenly to avoid a serious accident. The current lack of visibility poses a clear risk to both pedestrians and motorists, and urgent action is needed before an accident occurs.
