Unfinished road surface, pavements, kerbs, lines, crossings

Reported via desktop in the Surface Condition category anonymously at 11:21, Wednesday 10 September 2025

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8146376.

The road surface here on the public highway has not been finished to the correct standard by Persimmon. NCC have failed to enforce the S278 requirements and Persimmon have failed to do what is best for their estate and the people of Amble. The clue here is in the name of the site. FIX MY STREET!

  • Public update? What should the public know? They should know that Amble is being let down by NCC and Persimmon not settling this. Someone has to blink. Given work has already taken place without a commuted sum then that principle is established. It is less risk to Amble road and pavement users to let the completion of works occur outside of the sum being asked for retrospectively. To have had a stand off on this while people in Amble fall down over the trip hazards is regrettable and fixable. Again Fix My Street.

  • Nothing to add. Still dangerous and still needs a fix. No notifications of what you are doing because it is nothing.

  • Day after weak after month after year and zero progress on this. Can all parties sort this out? It would be a great Christmas (2025) present for Amble.
