Inadequate poor path
Reported via desktop in the Surface Condition category anonymously at 16:27, Wed 3 September 2025
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8114693.
This has been reported NUMEROUS times in the last 2 years - as we can see! In this time ZERO has been done to rectify this path that has a large footfall using it to walk from Fairmoor into Morpeth and vice versa. I use this frequently when walking into Morpeth and more recently used it with a pram to take my Granddaughter for a walk. The amount of bumps, holes and mud made it a very unpleasant walk for myself and her. Why on earth do we pay shed loads of money to NCC Council Tax to see it go towards Bedlington getting a lovely shiney new pathway from Nedderton into Bedlington which probably has nowhere near the footfall of this path!! It is a disgrace that we as residents put up with this kind of condition for well over 2 years. The fact no-one is able to respond to these comments and actually do anything shows how poor NCC really is! Your CEO should be ashamed of what NCC is NOT delivering and they should come and walk on this poor path and maybe slip in the mud!!!!

Thanks You for your report. This does not meet the Councils criteria for a pothole repair. Northumberland County Council will instruct repairs on hazardous defects once a depth of ≥40mm and ≥300mm wide in any direction is assessed on a road. For a footway we will instruct repairs at an intervention level of ≥ 20mm. Each report is risk assessed by our Highways Inspection team up inspection.
