Depositing of litter

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8035746.

Over the past 5 years my wife and I have taken the initiative to pick litter deposited by motorists along the length of Oxford Lane, Scremerston. However the problem, as throughout,the Berwick area.is worsening considerably. As occupants of passing vehicles throw and discard litter and packaging into the roadway. The problem is exacerbated by users of local takeaways throwing rubbish predominantly from McDonalds.or Costa Coffee.and other outlets. I would ask that appropriate signage.be displayed in this area, showing the offence of depositing litter.amd the penalty for doing so. As I appreciate resources do not allow full enforcement. I, for my part will report any offenders or vehicles to the council and support any action taken.
