Missing paving stone, path leading upto St Mary's church from High church.

Reported via desktop in the Slabs - Missing category anonymously at 23:52, Sunday 13 July 2025

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7870506.

Whilst walking from church to the local shop, I noticed that a stone appeared to have been lifted from the path and broken in the area under the Lych gate. I collected and removed the broken pieces from the path, but was unable to cone off the area. I have reported the damage to Northumberland police, who have currently closed the case due to lack of evidence of the perpetrator(s). I understand from speaking to our Rector, that NCC maintains the path in this area, so would appreciate your support in addressing this problem. Thank you very much for your help in this matter. I hope the photographs will be helpful in clarifying the area.

This is a closed churchyard and the maintenance responsiblity of the churchyard and it's walls and fences was passed to the local authority under Serction 215 of the Local Government Act 1972, however, the legislation not include maintenance of footpaths.
