Following works by Northern Power Grid and Northumbrian Water last week (Fri 20th June - Thur 26th June) the street lightning from Mountford Road through Merrington Close is now off, that is all three main street lights on Merrington Close.

The area is on the very edge of the village and extremely dark, consider to be a danger to people living/walking in the area.

  • Its not just the three lights on Merrington Close, but all the lights from the junction of Melton Drive & Mountford Road, down Mountford Road and all of Montrose Close as well. Plus the first light on Hastings Terrace.

    While it's nice to have a dark sky, its feels unsafe and a lot of elderly folk live in this part of the village. Please resolve this ASAP.
