Current road is obstructed by traffic islands and ollegal signage
Reported via desktop in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category anonymously at 19:10, Tuesday 1 July 2025
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7793756.
The entrance road to Hauxley Grange is not adopted therefore Northumberland County Council does not want or is able to ask its very good friends at Persimmon to fix the road surface. In that case I should be able to use the existing highway but it is blocked by two traffic islands. Please remove the obstructions and ensure the public highway is accessible and I do not have to use the dangerous, unfinished, unadopted road to proceed along Percy Drive. Also, your friends have installed advertising hoardings on the grass verge which are blocking sight lines. Please ask your friends at Persimmon to remove them.

It won't be fixed until Persimmon deign to do the work. This is an utter disgrace. Perhaps I should dig up the road and then place signage with no planning permission on the verge owned by NCC. How much would it cost me? Do you take cash?

Come on, please do the decent thing. This would not happen in Alnwick or Morpeth. Just grow a pair and TELL Persimmon that NCC will ensure the public highway is safe and charge it to Persimmon. Meanwhile, if somebody has an accident on the existing public highway due to Persimmon's negligence in not performing the work, NCC will be liable as NCC has been told on numerous occasions and chose not to fix the existing public highway.

At least the signs have been removed. Just needs the road making safe. I know you are skint, but surely loves are more valuable or perhaps as we do not work for the Council we are expendable? I suppose once we are banned from driving we won't need the road, but surely the party members will want their Zil lanes to be to a good standard?

The crossing and other works do not meet disability standards. It is also possible to trip on the crossing and fall into the road. Does the Council have exemption from the law? I do hope nobody has an accident here, as the council will be liable. Just fix it.
