Tree is overgrowing and blocking public footpath

Tree is blocking public footpath. Overgrown from neighbours garden backing onto us. Tree drops sap and leaves which have stained and ruined garden furniture

A member of the tree team attended on 21/7/25 to inspect and did not identify the tree encroaching the footpath. As this is a private tree impacting onto a private garden NCC would not carry out any work. Under common law you are allowed to cut back any over hanging branches back to the boundary line. If this is a high hedges complaint then you can make a complaint via our website, the link is below. You would need to follow the "Over the garden hedge" on the Gov.uk website.
