Ford over Yeavering burn impassable for bikes, and bridge steps too steep for lift. Please provide ramp access to bridge.

We got stuck yesterday on a lovely bike ride, as we were unable to cross the Yeavering Burn. There is a ramp access bridge over the adjacent River Glen, but then the bridge over the burn has steps and we were unable to lift our bikes up. Alternative? Go back to Milfield and cycle on the busy A697. Not a good idea.
