Cars parked outside school on yellow zig zag lines

Driving through Belsay earlier this afternoon, following two large aggregate trucks, there were a number of vehicles parked outside the school, including at least two on the yellow zig zag lines (see pictures). A large truck travelling in the opposite direction met us head on and a lot of tricky manoeuvring had to be done to ensure the trucks, and cars, got through safely. Something needs to be done with regard to the parking situation outside this school as this happens on a regular basis, There are frequently speed cameras out in this village, and I’m sure they do a good job, however there never seems to be any deterrent with regard to what is surely illegal parking. This wasn’t school pick up time (which is a nightmare each day) but around 1.30 pm so obviously something happening at the school for so many people to be there. Something really does need to be sorted out with regard to parking for this school as, if not already happened, there will certainly be an accident one day.
