Speed limits

Reported via desktop in the Vehicle Impact category by Jane Wearing at 16:24, Sat 7 June 2025

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7675362.

The Lilburn road out of Chatton past Broomhouse Farm, Cottages and Steading is a minor road on which the national speed limit applies ie 60mph. The road is used by heavy haulage (eg logging lorries, cement trucks and farm equipment) as well as normal car traffic. It is a road which is also very well used by pedestrians. The road has a number of blind bends. This combination of fast heavy traffic, pedestrians and corners which can't be seen through is a very dangerous combination and I would ask that consideration is given to lowering the limit to 30mph, which would be far more appropriate in an area which has a number of residences along it.
