Large cherry tree in community garden

Reported via mobile in the Trees damaging private property category anonymously at 12:48, Thursday 29 May 2025

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7633034.

This cherry tree which is located in the community garden in the former site of Hexham Middle School has grown very large. It has ivy over it. It is in close proximity to a row of houses and there is now concern that it will effect the foundations. It sheds blossom, stalks and leaves throughout the year causing gutters of the surrounding houses to block up. It used to be maintained regularly when HMS was occupied but has been neglected for several years now. Please could it be maintained, cut back and the ivy removed. In high winds and storms the branches are at risk of breaking and causing possible damage to the properties near by .
