A Nuisance or dangerous trees on private land problem has been found
Reported via desktop in the Nuisance or dangerous trees on private land category anonymously at 12:52, Tuesday 27 May 2025
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7622599.
Customer has been told previously that the small plantation of trees next to his home does not belong to NCC but is owned privately. He has expressed his concerns about the trees previously, but on Sunday a large branch (approx 8-9 mtrs long) fell from quite high up. He says his son and grandson had been close by and were just missed by the falling branch. Mr Smith says this is the second occurrence in a short space of time. He says he thinks the lower level branches have been cut back at some point in time but the trees are now top heavy, and he's concerned that branches falling from high up in the tree is going to happen more regularly. Please can we attend to inspect, and would we be able to have the fallen branch removed?? Many thanks

The wood burning stove people once again came with chainsaws and cut up the sizeable branches. However the smaller branches have now been spread over the area by the children who normally play in the area. This has caused some difficulties for the council grass cutting.

Still open, via questionnaire -
I cut up the remaining branches. Then packed them and took them in my vehicle to the tip. However the original danger is still present. I only hope we are not affected like the recent news of people being injured before action is taken to sensibly trim the trees.
