Deliberate fire damage to trees and plants.
Reported via mobile in the Nuisance or dangerous trees on private land category anonymously at 14:42, Fri 23 May 2025
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7610173.
A wooded area adjacent to our estate in Morpeth, Collingwood Manor, has been persistently damaged and set on fire on numerous occasions, most recently leading to the attendance of Northumbria Fire and Rescue brigade twice this past fortnight. There have been broken alcohol bottles, drug paraphernalia and extensive damage to trees and also road safety signs and supermarket trolleys and wheel trims set on fire. The area is now unsightly and damaged and dangerous to people and animals, with broken glass being a regular feature of the area. A tent is now in situ with some basic “cooking pot” made from metal. Cannabis has been smelled regularly. Youths have been seen In the vicinity regularly and even spoken to with abusive responses. Police have been informed on numerous occasions. The homes near by and farmers fields are at risk. Extensive damage has occurred in the last two weeks alone. I have photographs I have taken myself and some that other residents have taken of the fire damage. With the current dry weather conditions a large fire is a distinct possibility.

Thank you for this report. As this is not NCC land we would no become involved with regards to the trees. I would recommend reporting this to the police on 101 or on their website as anti social behavior as they would be the authority to investigate. This is annoying and there has been a rise in anti social behavior in the area. This report my help an increase in police presence in the area.
I have also passed this onto our anti social behavior officers as well. I will pass on your contact details.
