A Littering problem has been found

Hi. I emailed the National Highways because I was incorrectly informed that they looked after maintenance of the A19. They have told me it is you that maintains the A19 in Northumberland.

My issue relates to the A19 between the A189 roundabout to the A1 roundabout (although I suspect that the rest of it is also pretty disgusting).

Can you do something about the litter? It's vile. I feel like I'm driving into a landfill site whenever I go past it. If I was a tourist, I'd turn round and go back home.

I know it's not your fault that disgusting people throw litter out of their cars but can you clean it up?

It's dangerous to wildlife and can blow into the road and could cause an accident.
