Pedestrian barrier missing

Reported via mobile in the Pedestrian Barriers - Damaged / Missing category anonymously at 21:20, Wednesday 22 January 2025

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7019209.

A pedestrian barrier is desperately needed on this side of the road. I suspect the barrier was missed during installation or possibly installed on the wrong side of the road. This side of the road has a sloping pavement down to the road which can get slippery during ice, but also puts children and vehicles at risk if a child was to lose control coming down the hill and enter the road. Cars coming down the hill are unable to see pedestrians coming down the pavement so would not be able to stop in time if a pedestrian was to enter the road without warning. Please investigate.
