Dangerous trees on Highfield Estate causing danger to life and vehicles
Reported via desktop in the Nuisance or dangerous trees on private land category anonymously at 15:39, Sat 18 January 2025
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6998930.
There are around 20 trees along the stretch of lane indicated on the map which are falling or have fallen on other trees many of which are hanging precariously over the highway. The lane is used frequently by cyclists, tourists and members of the public and village residents some with very small children in prams. Every time there is even moderate wind the trees fall blocking the lane. I walk the lane daily for leisure/exercise and the other day when it was windy the prospect of passing the tree line on a public highway was frankly terrifying. Waving trees, creaking and groaning as they rub against each other. The situation is nothing but neglect on behalf of the landowner. Someone will be killed if the dangerous trees aren't removed.

The trees continue to fall and lean over the public highway. The land owner (a off-shored investment company) is metaphorically and literally absent.

Still not resolved. The land owner needs to be served a legal order to ensure that they take their responsibilities seriously. This is what you get when the land owner is registered in Monaco. Absent landlord...
