Crash Barrier damaged by Audi
Reported via desktop in the Crash Barriers - Damaged/Unsafe category by Robert Lawson at 23:30, Fri 20 December 2024
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6887533.
Yesterday, The police and other services retrieved an Aidi Quatro, PG16 MDE, which appeared to me to have gone down the wrong way into the road that should take the traffic going uphill from the bridge, on the A192. For whatever reason, It then crossed the footpath and launched itself over the footpath, over the crash barrier, and down into the dene in the direction of the old quarry. The end of the crash barrier, is now damaged, and as you can see in the picture, a row of cones are there now. Neither I nor the installers of the barrier anticipated an impact from this direction. I sent an e-mail to the Plessey woods people to alert them to the crash debris left behind, including the car number plate in 2 pieces.
