Large tree overhanging public footpath and causing problems

Reported via desktop in the Trees affecting highways or pavements category anonymously at 17:24, Tue 15 October 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6618974.

The tree outside numbers 1 and 3 Fulmar Drive is hanging so low it is causing pedestrians to duck underneath the branches. This has been ongoing for many many years. It is affecting the view from our windows and especially number 3 where an elderly couple live they have no light and need their living room light on most of the time as they get no light. A council team were out a few weeks ago lifting paving slabs and they commented how low the tree was. They were lifting slabs and cutting roots from the tree as the pavement was lifting. This will have made the tree unstable now. How is it that other areas have had trees cut ie Broadway but not here. Surely if a team is out felling trees they can come and at least prune this tree. If it would be easier for you I could arrange to have it done myself
