Tree and bushes hitting double deckers buses at the westbound bus stop

Reported via desktop in the Trees affecting highways or pavements category anonymously at 20:37, Fri 4 October 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6553355.

This is the west bound bus stop. So the double decker bus pulls into the bus layby at the bus stop and all the trees and bushes for almost the full length of the bus stop scraping and smashing along the side of the bus. It happened this week on my journey on Tuesday afternoon on a 685 double decker. I note there is also another problem with the full length of this road for which your status suggest the trees may have been attended to but whoever did the job missed the bus stop layby. You need to prune up to 4.5m clear height and I suggest at least 0.5m back from the kerb if not 1.0m back to allow for the bus front overhang when pulling in - and check the whole length of the bus stop layby
