Reported via desktop in the Trees affecting highways or pavements category anonymously at 12:13, Tue 30 July 2024
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6293442.
This area has been completely left to become overgrown & dangerous. The pathway is not clear for parents with buggies, wheelchair users or elderly member of the community using walkers, The overgrown trees & hedges pose a health & safety risk for children crossing the road due to poor visibility. There are two large trees that are being being killed with ivy & pose a risk of falling on properties near by.

31.7.24 - some of this area has now been cleared. There is still a considerable amount more to do with the overgrown trees. brambles & nettles. The trees need to be trimmed to improve access & visibility & the two very large trees that are covered in ivy need some urgent attention. This area used to be well looked after by the council. It simply can’t be left as it has been for the past 2-3 years.

This area continues to be left, no work has been undertaken since my last update on 2.8.24 with the trees and out of control nettles, brambles and ivy. It is dangerous in terms of visibility, access and needs urgent attention. I am concerned that the 2 large trees are being killed by the ivy and may fall on a member of the community, a passing car or my property. I also feel given the high council tax banding I pay that this area should not be left to look as it has.

This area has still not been given the much needed attention it requires. The area is completely overgrown, tree branches are blocking visibility & the ivy is killing two very large trees which continue to pose a risk of falling if left indefinitely.
