Japanese Knotweed
Reported via mobile in the Weeds category anonymously at 11:04, Thursday 27 June 2024
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6161789.
The Japanese Knotweed is growing in the bridge support. I have previously contacted NCC concerning this problem for the last few years, I think it has been forgotten about as nothing has been done in that time period. Meanwhile the Knotweed has spread to the bridge support, on the Melton Constable side of Seaton Sluice road bridge. This will affect it structure and safety in the future.

I have been reporting this problem for years to different people who are either Councillors or work for the council. No one has bothered their backside to do anything. I am trying to save NCC a lot of money, because if the Knotweed grows much more it will cause damage to the bridge foundations.
