Dangerous Road Crossing and no public path

Reported via mobile in the Pedestrian Barriers - Damaged / Missing category anonymously at 17:32, Wed 12 June 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6100191.

On the area of road highlighted here, there is no path going to Morpeth and requires pedestrians to cross the road to go down Stannington Station road. This part of the road is incredibly dangerous, with cars often going over the 50mph speed limit, it is also the area of a very busy junction. There has been a massive increase in properties built in the area over the last few years so traffic has dramatically increased, and the roads have not been changed to compensate for this. My Parents live in Nedderton Village and my dad has difficulties walking and he is unable to cross the road quick enough with oncoming traffic. I have also witnessed people walking on the main road and this is also incredibly dangerous with the blind bend further up. The path either needs to be extended to Hepscott Park or a mid crossing point needs to be added to allow an easier crossing.
